The Governor and First Lady tour the Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES) in Idaho Falls. The Governor was a strong advocate of the
center and helped secure legislative approval for funding the 55,000 square foot research facility. The center is a public-private partnership that includes
the State of Idaho, through partnerships with the Boise State University, Idaho State University and the University of Idaho; as well as the federal
government through the Department of Energy; and a private entity the Battelle Energy Alliance which manages the Idaho National Laboratory.

The Governor and First Lady visit with award recipients and attendees to the Governor’s
Awards in the Arts at a pre-awards show reception at the Willard Arts Center in Idaho Falls.
