Idaho's official seal

Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you sow. -Robert Louis Stevenson

Welcome

Greetings from the Great State of Idaho~
Governor Otter and I are pleased to welcome you to the state of Idaho. We hope you will take some time to explore and experience the Idaho that we know and love. Idaho is a fast-growing and beautiful state; it is a great place to raise a family, work hard and play even harder. We enjoy four distinct seasons and enjoy an active outdoors lifestyle on our millions of acres of wild forests, canyons and high desert. Hunting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, whitewater rafting – our outdoor recreation opportunities are endless. Beautiful rivers, mountains and lakes beckon Idahoans all year long. And the diverse opportunities apply to our working lives as well, in agriculture, high-tech industries, at the world-class Idaho National Laboratory and at our outstanding universities. Idaho truly has something for everyone, from scenic Lake Coeur d’Alene in North Idaho to world-famous Sun Valley, from the Craters of the Moon to the Owyhee Canyons. We invite you to explore the history and culture of Idaho. The path of Lewis and Clark, our scenic byway system, our state parks and national forests all make Idaho a great vacation spot for families. Plan a visit; we’re certain that our hospitality will have you coming back for more. Please take some time to learn more about our state government and our elected officials who are working hard to keep Idaho a great place to live and work. We hope to see you soon!
Warm Regards,

Lori Otter
